Rest brings peace Rest brings remnants Of pieces left behind in the dust Rest releases Rest retrieves Images of fear, of hope, of lust Rest remembers Rest restores Is that why we resist it so much? Rest breaks down Rest builds up Reserves so we can muster what we must Rest brings pearls Rest brings wisdom Of words emanating from the dusk Where busy is strength Rest is weakness Yet can busy really sense right from wrong? It’s the rested who emerge clear and strong Rest brings peace Rest brings remnants Of pieces left behind at dawn

Beautiful. I have such a hard time resting even when I’m exhausted
Hege: Another meaningful poem....Many years ago, I used a early Saturday morning walk as my rest period...walking along the Thames river at 7am completely cleared my head; as I thought about nothing for 1hr...walking during the cold winter months was bliss...!
