How Ignite Presence Was Born

I have always been a deep thinker and a seeker. Always searching for the truth; learning and exploring what truly brings us joy, fulfilment and peace. How can we fulfil our potential? How can we become the best version of ourselves and contribute powerfully to the world from a place of authenticity and integrity whilst we’re here? Those have become questions that I ponder repeatedly. 

My Journey

I have always been an artist at heart. From an early age I started writing poetry, song lyrics and melodies. I dreamed of being a singer and for many years I wrote my own music, professionally recording and releasing it whilst also performing. I had an amazing time doing so and I’m sure I will create more music in the future. I also studied acting and got my acting degree. Creativity has always been the best way for me to connect with myself. It continues to be one of my greatest joys and always will be.

The Inner Work

For the past 10–12 years I have done a lot of inner work. You name it, I’ve done it. From therapy and coaching to inner child work, shadow work, meditation, mindfulness, spirituality and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). This is something that has helped me on my personal journey towards greater self-awareness and self-acceptance. I’m curious by nature and anything that is surface level bores me very quickly. I want to understand and know what lies underneath the surface. That’s what’s truly fascinating to me. The deeper the level of understanding we have of ourselves, the greater our understanding of other people and the world we live in. 

I have dabbled in different faiths including Buddhism and Taoism, both of which I respect greatly for the wisdom they contain. However, I never felt that I wanted to commit to a religion as I saw all religions as branches from the same tree. I’ve never liked to be told what to believe and I like to think for myself. I have also been conscious of the problems with organised religion. Those problems are man made however, and not a reflection of the true message of the teachings.

I also for many years practised tarot and even explored witchcraft, paganism and all the new age teachings I could lay my hands on. Even though I felt that these practices gave me guidance and helped me to connect more deeply with myself and my intuition, they never gave me the peace or the answers I was seeking.

In January 2021 I began to read the bible after feeling called to connect more deeply with Jesus and God’s word. As a little girl I grew up protestant and felt deeply connected to God and would pray daily.

In the next few years I met several people who inspired me to seek out Jesus and his teachings. Slowly I’ve grown closer to God and I now have a firm belief that Jesus is the true source and the way. Other new age teachings feel to me now like watered down versions of the truth which can only be found in Jesus and scripture.

Personally, I have chosen to finally commit myself to Christianity, to follow Christ and to leave new age teachings behind.

If I had known how much wisdom and truth were to be found in the Holy Bible, I would have started reading it much sooner. Yet the road to find truth is rarely easy nor straightforward.

Becoming

I’m convinced we are here to become closer to truth and to evolve into the best we can be in this lifetime. That’s no easy feat! Yet a worthwhile task for all of us. The closer we can get to our authenticity and truth the more we can serve powerfully whilst here and contribute with our unique energy and gifts. That’s what I aim to do for myself. To be as much in integrity and truth as possible and to help and guide others to do the same. 

Contribution

What I have come to believe is that there are only two things that truly matter in life. The first is the point above of becoming. The second is contribution. What we contribute to whilst here. That means what we contribute to energetically, consciously and unconsciously. This is of course directly related to who we become, which is why this is the first point. We cannot contribute powerfully, even if we are in a position of external power and influence, unless we ourselves are living in integrity, authenticity and truth. This is worthwhile remembering. We have to walk the talk. 

Ignite Presence

This publication is my way of contributing with my wisdom and insights to the best of my ability. I’m still learning and growing and always will be striving to evolve and practice what I preach. 

One of the best starting points I believe we can all make is to ignite the power of presence to get still and embrace silence enough to listen deeply to our own inner guidance and to hear God’s voice. Nothing speeds up our inner growth as much as silence and stillness. 

Ultimately I believe we are all connected. We’re all just a soul in a body.
